The Arsenal content group is made up of Arsenal.com, Arsenal TV, photography and publication. The group provides content for Arsenal fans worldwide, sponsors, licences and supporters.
To design and produce Arsenal Football Club’s print edition of the Matchday Programme.
The job exists primarily to design an engaging, informative print programme to enhance supporters match day experience. The programme is redesigned every season.
The job also involves working on social graphics and numerous other print projects such as handbooks and brochures.
The position will involve working within a dynamic, vibrant team producing high quality design work, often under pressurised deadlines.
The position will ensure consistency in the style and quality of the design work produced, keeping it in line with the other work produced from within the department such as the website, handbooks and social graphics.
Match/Event responsibilities and organisation
Responsible for the design and delivery of the match day programme: Collate words and photographs (liaising directly with the editorial team and Club photographers) to create/design the match day programme for every home game.
Ensure high standards are continuously maintained.
Securely send print ready pdfs to the printer.
Ensure printers have the correct number of pages in the correct order and that all pdfs have been received to the correct specification.
Work closely with other members of the design team.
Continually consider design trends and innovations when embarking upon any given project.
Adhoc design projects as and when required.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
GCSE Art, A level Art/Design, Foundation Art, Degree Graphic Design or equivalent.
Any combination of art/design qualifications up to a Degree in Graphic Design.
Demonstrable experience, as a print designer, designing quality weekly and/or monthly magazines.
Experience of re-designing publications.
Experience of creating print ready pdfs.
Experience of working directly with printers.
Experience of working within a team of designers.
Thorough working knowledge of Adobe Indesign.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Strong and clear communication skills.
Strong organisational skills.
Attention to detail.
Thorough knowledge of creating print ready pdfs.
The ability to work within extremely tight deadlines under extreme pressure
Thorough knowledge of the print process.
Working as part of a team.
